New Art Wall Exhibition is now open
Christine Sewell was born and raised in the Leigh-on-Sea area and attended St. Bernards Convent, she was a lover of art from a young age and this was nurtured throughout her academic life. She went on to study at Goldsmith's College, London and trained in teaching. During her career she went into Special Needs Teaching in prisons and special units dealing with all types of ages and disabilities.
When Christine retired she moved to Portugal and her love of painting was reignited. You can see many Portuguese influences in her works, as well as memories from her childhood in Southend.
Christine moved back to Leigh-on-Sea last year, and has since become involved with HARP, The Leigh Society and St. Clement's Church.
Her bright and colourful works of art are on display in the Community Centre until 19th October. Come and have a look and don't forget to sign the comment book!
