Leigh Community Centre offers the use of its attic space to house an Artist in Residence. Leigh-on-Sea Town Council make an appointment to this position and hope to work with the appointee who will provide creative ideas and artistic services to the Leigh-on-Sea community in return for a reduced rental amount and exhibition space within the Centre.
All types of art which can be accommodated in the Centre will be considered on a yearly lease for the space.

If you are an established practitioner and might enjoy developing a community project or similar then the Loft space in the Community Centre is just for you. To find out more see the artist brief below, to apply complete the application form below and return to the Community Centre, alternatively you can collect an information pack from the Community Centre reception.
Interviews will take place during August and the successful applicant will commence his/her residency in September 2017. It's a big space so joint applications will also be considered.
The Leigh Community Centre Art Wall hosts regular art exhibitions from local arists and art groups. The Art Wall is open to individual artists and art groups who have sufficient pieces of work to fill the space. There is no charge but applications are subject to the Community Centre's Terms and Conditions.

The Artist in Residence and Art Wall initiatives are part of Leigh Town Council's commitment to promote the provision of accessible social, recreational, educational and cultural facilities within the town for the benefit of the community and visitors.
