Welcome to your Community fridge. Our goal is to create a space where neighbours can share food, reduce waste and support one another. Whether you have extra fruits, vegetable and produce or simply need something to eat, this fridge is for the community by the community.

Please find the fridge in the lobby area just before the cafe in the Community Centre where you will also see a list of foods we can and cannot accept.

We unfortunately can't take home made cooked food but anything unopened or fresh we are ready for you.

The idea is very simple, you can pop in food that you no longer need and someone can take it to make their dinner that night. The UK produces around 9.5 million tonnes of food waste per year which is actually an improvement on previous years, but there’s still masses of scope to do better, which you can do by using this facility. The fridge is located in the foyer of Leigh Community Centre and can be accessed any time the Centre is open.

If you have food to donate, please check the lists below for what we can and can't accept.
